STARBRIGHT GYMNASTICS, FITNESS AND PERFORMING

Starbright Gymnastics and Fitness and Performing is a unique type of gymnastics school for young children ranging from pre school age to adult. At Starbright we are dedicated to the idea that every child can become a star. Our program combines gymnastics with fitness and performing and strives to bring out the very best in each of our students. We want to provide a positive and enjoyable experience for all students regardless of whether they are with us for one month or for several years.

Our gymnastics program, while concentrating on floor gymnastics, also provides instruction on the balance beam, bars and vault. The owner, Janine Skorski, has had many years of teaching and coaching gymnastics and is a certified USA Gymnastics competition judge. This assures you that your child will be taught all skills correctly and should she decide to go into competition later on, she will be fully prepared and will have been taught correctly so she can excel in competition.

We are dedicated to providing excellent gymnastics instruction. Even if a gymnast does not wish to compete,  we feel that gymnastics as a sport cannot be surpassed for providing the skills and a lifestyle that will benefit all students as they progress from early childhood to adulthood. These skills include learning how to be physically fit, and acquiring the self-confidence needed to be successful in life. So, while we want to provide the opportunity to compete in gymnastics for any student who shows the interest and the ability, our main objective is give all of our students the benefits that gymnastics provides, no matter what direction they choose to go in the future.

At Starbright we always teach by encouragement and always stress a positive and encouraging learning environment. We take each student’s strong points and integrate those with their gymnastics instruction, so that students always feel a sense of accomplishment when they learn their gymnastics skills. Children are encouraged to respect all of their classmates and are taught to appreciate the different qualities that each student brings with them to the classroom. When the class gets a chance to demonstrate what they have learned to their families, each child’s strong points will be accentuated.

We feel very strongly that it is important for gymnasts to be able to demonstrate their new skills to their families. That is why we always have an exhibition at the last class of each session for families to watch and enjoy. We have found in the past that this motivates students to work harder and gives them a sense of enjoyment knowing that the people who care about them will get a chance to see their new accomplishments. At first some of the quieter children might be a little hesitant, but we guarantee that this will be a fun event for all of them, and more importantly, teach them that their hard work will always pay off.
